For those who want to have a Pokémon card made for a Pokémon fan but are not really familiar with the cards themselves: read more about all the elements on the Pokémon card here.
The beginning
Pokémon cards are nowadays seen as collectibles but the cards were originally designed as a card game! Each player has his own deck with Pokémon cards, Trainer cards and Energy's. The goal is to defeat the opponent's Pokémon in a duel.
The parts:
Elements on the map
- NAME: Here you will find the name of the Pokémon.
- HP: Stands for Healing Points and shows the number of life points the Pokémon has. Once the life points reach 0, the Pokémon is defeated.
- TYPE: There are different types of Pokémon. The type of a Pokémon (card) shows a kind of basic element.
- ATTACK 1 & 2: By using an attack you can lower the HP of your opponent. The stronger the attack, the more damage it does. The small balls in front of the attack show the amount of Energy's needed to use this attack. However, this is not something you have to take into account when making the Pokémon card.
- RARITY: This indicates how likely you are to encounter this Pokémon in the wild or how easy/difficult it is to find this card in a Booster Pack.
- 1ST EDITION: When Pokémon came out with the first set, they made 1st edition cards and that means that this was the very first time that the cards appeared. This sign can only be found on the first printing of the first set that was released. You can also choose for 2nd edition, this can only be found on the second printing of the first set.
- PERSONAL MESSAGE: Here is a description of the specific Pokémon on the original cards. You can fill in a nice text here or fill in a date as a reminder.
